Abstract
A mathematical model for predicting the spread of a fire front in homogeneous and inhomogeneous forest is presented. It is based on the application of the game method for modeling with hexagonal lattice. The results of the modeling show the advantage of using hexagonal cells for the forest areas considered, thus avoiding the limitations of spurious symmetries of the square cells used in previous studies. Further validation of the model developed with a real case of forest fire is foreseen.
